How To Easily Think Your Way to Happiness

Everyone is born with unique talents. That includes you.

You also come with tendencies. Tendencies leaning toward expressing those talents. Feeling those tendencies then following them will change your life.

It is not possible to come to earth with no passions, skills, strengths or direction. Are you feeling like you have none of these? Are you bored about life? Feel stuck in a rut? The problem isn’t what you’re doing. It’s how you’re thinking.

You brought everything with you needed to live your greatest life ever. Living your greatest life ever includes consistent happiness.

Happiness is an emotion you conjure deliberately. When you don’t, it comes and goes.

Here’s the secret to living your greatest life ever: Be happy first. Then everything you want comes easily.

There’s a reason you feel bored or tired or sad or unfulfilled. It’s saying “How you are thinking right now needs to change if you want what you want.”

Ask someone “what is the purpose of emotions?” You won’t get the answer you just got. Yet it is the key to everything you want.

Not many people know you can become happy in a few seconds no matter what is happening. Not knowing this, happiness is fleeting.

But happiness can be permanent. Learning to conjure happiness is all it takes.

“How do you conjure it?” you ask.

We’ll get to that. But first, let’s spend some time exploring why being happy first gets you all you want.

Happy matters…a lot

What if you had two options:

Option A:

Work your ass off. Struggle. Scramble to network and contact. Try to find people you need on your side. Then, some time later….through all kinds of trials and struggles…you make it. Whatever “it” is for you.

It’s a great story to tell. “War wounds” galore. Maybe your marriage failed along the way. Or you have a substance abuse problem. Or you developed an anxiety disorder in the process.

But hey, you made it!

Maybe you’re happy. Maybe you’re satisfied. Maybe?

Sure you might be rich. But you might not be. And if you are, you might lose it. A lot of successful people fear losing their success.

That’s not being happy.

Option B:

Be happy first. Tap into your Broader Perspective so you can feel your tendencies. Then learn to follow them.

This way, happiness comes in two or three minutes instead of after you make it. At that point, you have what you want: you’re happy.

But it doesn’t end there.

The right people, the right timing, the right resources, the right events all happen with little effort on your part. Day after day, what you want starts happening.

You’re getting what you’re wanting. Struggle, stress and anxiety free.

Along the way, your connection to Broader Perspective grows. You lose fears, including the fear of death. Anxiety goes away. Worry does too. You realize you’re eternal. Life becomes fun. And happiness becomes permanent.

To us, the choice is clear. Option B happens exactly like this. Here’s why that is, and why happiness matters.

Happiness more than an emotion. It serves a critical purpose. It tells you when your life condition matches your Broader Perspective’s condition.

Your Broader Perspective is the you you are projecting yourself from, into this physical reality. You’re “here” on earth. But you’re also “there” in the timeless, spacious present we call the “moment of becoming“.

The moment you decide you want something, you have it in the spacious present. But you don’t get what you want in physical reality as quickly. Why? Because things happen slower here. That’s a good thing.

How many times have you said, for example, something like “I wish my boss would die, that bastard!” or “I wish I never married my husband!” or “I wish you were never born”?

It’s a good thing you don’t immediately get what you want.

Things don’t have to happen as slow as they do either. They can happen faster. What’s slowing them up? We’re going to tell you.

You have Broader Perspective. It knows all potential outcomes. It knows All That Is. It knows everything you want. It has everything you want. It knows how you can have all you want.

What would that part of you feel? Wouldn’t it be happy, excited, free, joyful and fulfilled?

Your Broader Perspective is you. So is the you here on Earth. When you’re feeling happy, excited, free, joyful and fulfilled, you see the world the same way your Broader Perspective sees it. Seeing the world that way tunes you to your Broader Perspective.

When you’re in tune, you’re able to hear messages it’s sending you. Messages leading you to what you want.

That you can feel happiness (or not happy) is how you tell if you’re tuned to your Broader Perspective. When you’re happy, you’re in tune. When you’re not, you’re not in tune.

The less in tune you are, the less you can hear your messages. Life is harder when you can’t hear your messages. That’s why being happy first is so important. It tells you when the communication channel between you and you is open.

So happiness must be something you can conjure at will. Otherwise you couldn’t hear what you’re sending. It’s important because it tells you you and the broader you are in synch. When you’re in synch, you can hear the messages. Follow them and you get what you want.

Back to the question: “how do you conjure happiness”?

The answer is: by learning to think deliberately.

How you think is important.

Yet hardly anyone teaches “how to think” in school or anywhere else.

You can learn how to think critically. Or how to think like an engineer. Or a lawyer. That instruction teaches how to be productive in a given field.

But hardly anyone is teaching how to think so you can be happy in life.

Here are practical steps on how to think.

Usually people think happiness happens when something they want happens.

  • I get a new car. I’m happy!
  • I get a raise. I’m happy!
  • I had a great time last night. I was happy!
  • When I meet the guy of my dreams, I’ll be happy!

Happiness does happen that way. But only when people don’t know what you’re reading.

As we wrote above, happiness can be a permanent condition. It’s actually supposed to be that way. Meaning, it can happen in sucky situations too. It all depends on how you think. Not what is happening.

Let’s say you’re at work. You’re bored to death. Or maybe you didn’t get that promotion. Maybe you discovered you make less than your equally-skilled peers. Maybe you’re losing your job.

Your boredom, disappointment, anger or fear is not happiness.  That means you’re not tuned into your Broader Perspective. You’re not deliberately thinking.

But you can be tuned in. And you can be happy now. How?

Think of something positive long enough until happiness shows up. It’s that simple.

So you’re in your office. Something’s happening. You feel negative.

Turn your attention to something that pleases you.  The clothes you’re wearing, for example. Perhaps they are some of your favorite clothes. Think about how much you like those clothes. How well they fit, how good you look in them. Think about the compliment you got on the bus on the way to work.

It would go like this:

  • I really like how I look in this
  • I like how I feel in this
  • These clothes make me look (hot, professional, skinny, etc)
  • I look (hot, professional, skinny, etc)
  • I like looking (hot, professional, skinny, etc)
  • I like feeling (hot, professional, skinny, etc)

You could do this about a coworker or a person in your office you might have special feelings for. Think about how much you like that person. Think about how much you like talking with them, how they make you laugh maybe. Think specific thoughts about them like the ones above:

  • I’m so glad so-and-so is in my life
  • I’m eager to see how this might turn out
  • It was cool so-and-so said hi to me
  • I feel like I’m back in high school
  • It’s fun to have a crush!

Maybe you really like the way you have your office organized. Think about how much you like organization. Think about how good that feels to you. Think about how good it feels to you to turn a messy desk into an organized one. Think specific thoughts about it like the ones above:

  • I really like being organized
  • I like having everything in their place
  • It feels good to be organized
  • I feel best when my space is ordered
  • It’s nice to see clutter turn to order

Your thinking doesn’t have to be monumental. It only needs to trigger positive feelings. How and why this happens is too detailed for this piece. We’ll describe the mechanics another time.

While thinking these thoughts, pay attention to your feelings. First you feel boredom, disappointment, anger or fear. But as you think on purpose, you’ll feel different. It might be pleasure or mirth. It might be satisfaction. It might be relief. It might be self admiration. It may be pride. Or humor. Or love.

All these emotions tell you you’ve moved from boredom, disappointment, anger or fear, which is not happiness, to something closer to happiness.

These things you’re thinking about are in your current situation. If they weren’t, you couldn’t think about them. When thinking about them, you’re experiencing them. Even though they aren’t in your physical experience.

So turn your attention to them. Not whatever you’re experiencing. You mood will improve.

The moment you notice your mood improve, turn your thinking to that. Acknowledge what you just did. You changed how you’re feeling without changing your situation. Note how much better you’re feeling now. It feels better than you felt just a few moments ago. Congratulate yourself. Say, “Wow, in just a few seconds, I changed my experience from X (negative emotion) to Y (better feelings). That’s pretty neat!” Come up with five or six other thoughts:

  • This is new and exciting.
  • Hmm, I like how this feels
  • I like that I can do this.
  • I feel a whole lot better
  • Wow, now I’m feeling even better!

In a few thoughts, you’ll find yourself thinking different, but related, thoughts:

  • I wonder how far this can go?
  • Could it be this easy?
  • This is actually kind of fun!

As you stay on that track, you might feel or hear your thoughts change. Notice them change to other pleasing things. For example, you might find yourself thinking about the sex you had last night. Focus on that and you’ll find yourself feeling other….er…sensations :-).

Keep it up and your feelings will get increasingly positive. And yet, your conditions haven’t changed.

Practice with obvious things until you’re good at it.  Then move to less obvious thought topics:

  • Think about how cool it is that you woke up today.
  • Or that your body functions mostly without your attention.
  • Or that you really like the color of your house.
  • Or that the sun comes up every day
  • Or that there is plenty of air to breathe

So now you changed your reality. You were feeling negative. Now you’re happy. You’ve also created a new physical reality. Your positive emotions come with physical experiences. A smile on your face, a lighter disposition. You may even see the difference.

But there are changes happening you can’t see. Not at first. Your entire life experience is changing. It is tuning into experiences leading to what you’re wanting. Not just one of those things either. All of them.

In other words, you’re not doing this to feel good. You’re doing this to feel messages your broader perspective constantly sends you. This is where your impulses come in.

As you gain more thinking skill something else happens: You get an impulse to do something. It will be subtle. It will be more feeling than words. It might feel like “go to the bathroom”, for example.

Let’s say that’s it. You get the sense to go to the bathroom. You may not have the biological urge to go. So it may make no logical sense. But when you get it, go.

When you do, you might bump into the person you were thinking about. Or you might get a text from your partner. Or a call from someone you’ve been wanting to hear from. You might run into a co-worker who says, “I was just thinking about you.” and offer you something unexpected and surprising.

When that happens, you’ve gotten exactly what we described in the beginning of this post: Things happening with little effort on your part. The only action you took was following your impulse to go to the bathroom.

This is Option B brought to life.

You want to practice this until you do it automatically. In the same way you think now. Look at your thoughts. They probably come and go on their own. That’s practiced. You’re not thinking on purpose.

That can change.

The more you practice, the more you’ll get “hunches” or “impulses”. Of course, as you practice, you’ll get what look like false impulses. You’ll take action and it will seem nothing beneficial happened. These are actually true. Something beneficial did happen.

For example, say you went to the bathroom and nothing happened. But something did happen. Feel, then act. Notice how you’re feeling and thinking. You might be thinking “this was dumb”, or “I look like an idiot”.

Those thoughts are telling you something. They are saying “you think what people think about you is more important than getting what you want”. Why else would you care about how you look? Embarrassment is an emotion triggered by this belief. If you’re feeling embarrassment or stupid, you’ve cut off communication between you and you.

Now hear this: You wouldn’t have known this thought is keeping you from hearing your messages if “nothing happened”, right? So somethinghappened:you got clear about something you needed to know to get what you want.

When you feel an impulse after tuning into Broader Perspective, either:

A. Take action immediately. Go talk to that person, go to the bathroom, take a nap or whatever. Then see what happens. If something happens that feels like nothing, refer to this post about “false” results.

B. Wait. Take no action until the feeling to act is so persistent you must follow it. THEN act as in point A above.

At first, you might have a hard time feeling impulses. Getting used to telling the difference between an impulse and a random thought takes practice.

Can you see how this practice turns your life into an amazing adventure? At first, you’ll get a lot of “false” results. But those “false” results aren’t false. Again we describe that paradox here.

Keep going and life fills in with subjects and interests and people matching your passions, skills, strengths and desires. You’re now following your tendencies and they are leading you to all you’re wanting.

But…

Doing this process once or twice it’s not enough. You’ll feel good for a moment. But your old habit (automatic thinking) will return. This is why people who try these things end up failing. They don’t apply themselves enough.

Want to get everything you want and live happily ever after? Repeat these steps over and over. For how long? Until thinking this way is as natural as the way you think now.

Then you’ll become your Broader Perspective. Then you have it all, including lasting happiness.

When A Trip To The Optometrist Brings More Clarity Than Expected

It was going to be a quick trip. Get the eyeglass adjustment. Go home.

Easy peasy.

What it turned into: something far more interesting.

During his recent Idaho vacation, Perry wore contact lenses.

That’s because his new glasses, which he ordered well before the trip were not ready. His existing pair wasn’t either. A manufacturer’s defect forced them back to the repair shop.

Perry prefers glasses for many reasons. Napping being one. Napping is more complicated with plastic disks in your eyes.

Glasses are easy. So Perry prefers being bespectacled.

You can imagine his delighted then, when the vision specialist called Perry the first time, two weeks before his vacation. That is, until she told Perry the bad news: his new glasses failed inspection. They’d have to be redone too.

Two different pair of glasses. Two different repair shops. Two warranty problems.

Coincidence?

A long series of “unfortunate events” about Perry’s eyes accented the last few weeks. First came what Perry thought was a scratched cornea.

Nope. Pink eye.

Then he broke his old glasses playing with the family dog. They came back a week later, but just two days after that, broke again. Warranty defect.

Then came his annual vision exam, which prompted the the new glasses order and its attendant manufacturing problems.

That’s when Perry wondered aloud to his wife, just prior to leaving for vacation, that something larger was happening having to do with more than eyeball vision. He wondered -– rightly –– whether his need for clarity, had more to do with his non-physical perception than seeing with his eyes; an expansion of perception which would make more visible the expanding grace Perry –– and every human being –– naturally enjoys.

Perhaps these experiences were leading up to a new experience Perry; an experience that would delight him by making visible what was there all along, but hidden from him in plain sight.

Like “lost” keys you search frantically for only to find them in the exact spot you checked five times.

Everyone has had that experience.

For Perry though, it wasn’t about lost car keys, but keys to questions he had been asking all his life.

Your physical reality always, faithfully reflects what is going on with you in the non-physical realm –– that place from which you come, the place from which everything flows from –– through The Moment of Becoming and, finally, into full-blown physical reality. The more you open yourself to this, the more you are able to see and consciously experience both the physical, the non physical and The Moment of Becoming.

It’s a highly satisfying experience to have this experience. And it comes with delightful, practical benefits.

(At the time all this was happening Perry didn’t know all this. As he writes this blog post, he is coming into clarity as we share what was happening behind the scenes. So now, as he writes, Perry is delighting in the epiphany, his awareness of what it is we’re sharing now.)

Back to glasses, vision and vacations.

It frustrated Perry to hear his new glasses wouldn’t be ready for another week. The specialist assured him they would be ready the following Tuesday. By then, Perry and his wife would be in Idaho. He asked the specialist if it were possible to ship the glasses to the house where they would be. Of course this was possible, she said.

For a price.

And that’s what happened. On Thursday, as promised, with just days of their vacation remaining, the glasses arrived. Cost: $24. Interestingly, around the same time, the other eyeglass shop repairing his older glasses called. Those frames were ready to pick up too.

The coincidence didn’t escape Perry. Two pair, ready to go, but neither nearby.

When the new glasses arrived, they were beautiful. Their case alone is a work of art. They’re more sturdy than his old ones too. Perry enjoyed looking at them. Though they needed adjustments, he wore them instead of the contacts for the rest of their vacation.

Back home Perry wanted to go to the eyeglass shop for adjustments. But, something else vied for his attention: a nap.

As one’s state of grace, one’s invincibility becomes more obvious, a person is less and less comfortable adhering to what Seth calls “assembly-line time”, the idea instilled in humans that you must work straight through from 8-5 (or worse), with your nose to the grindstone “making it happen” and “getting shit done”.

If you let it, your life experience, shows you how All That Is, your Inner Being and the Universe work together to make things you want to happen happen in your life. When you see how this non-physical “trinity” delivers everything you’re wanting –– with perfect timing and in the perfect way –– more and more you want to let them do work.

A person in their state of grace, in their invincibility, becomes like daisies, trees and the rest of nature: she simply allows her trinity to shower her natural abundance upon her.

Part of that delicious experience, is a renewed relationship with napping.

Abraham and Esther Hicks equate sleeping and meditation. Both refresh oneself by immersing one in one’s origins.

Perry strives to heed impulses to take naps. But in this case, he wasn’t willing. Everyone has free will. And everyone’s trinity knows how to work with your free will to surprise and delight you.

That is, if you are aware enough to receive the surprise and delight.

Which Perry certainly is.

A person can’t act contrary to one’s state of grace. But it can feel that way. As you’ll soon see.

So Perry went to the shop, feeling tired. When he arrived, there were two people ahead of him and only one person behind the counter. She said everyone had gone to lunch but her. She would be with him as soon as possible.

This was not the person who helped Perry before. Perry felt frustration mixed with his fatigue. But he was committed to not vent his frustration on his reality.

He knows better.

Instead, he sat patiently, expecting everything would work out.

He thought about bagging the whole idea and returning another day. But just before he got up, the woman behind the counter called him over.

She took his new glasses into a back room. Then she returned and put them on Perry’s face. They looked even better than before. They fit better too, which the woman confirmed aloud. Then Perry noticed something strange.

While they did fit better, he noticed the lenses were not symmetrically aligned and the nose bridge was crooked.

The woman noticed this too, but tried to avoid it. When Perry pointed it out, she acknowledged the problem saying the lenses were flawed.

They’d have to go back for a warranty repair. Perry’s frustration returned.

Now Perry knows “frustration” has nothing to do with what is happening in front of him. Instead, it always has to do with what is going on inside him. His physical world simply reflects back to him his internal realitiy…with 100 percent experiential acuity.

This is so with every human. No exceptions.

So when the woman behind the counter apologized for the inconvenience, knowing Perry had been waiting a while for these glasses, Perry took a deep breath, then smiled and said “It’s ok”.

She wondered aloud if he had a spare. Which reminded him: his other glasses were ready to be picked up. Perry had forgotten about that.

What perfect timing, he thought. Even when it feels like things are going wrong, it’s actually working out with perfect timing. Perry left his new glasses feeling lighter.

Back home he again felt the urge to take a nap. But by now, the momentum of Perry’s frustration had a hold of him and his life experience. Taking a nap was a possibility, but it was much more probable Perry would continue along his frustration path.

This is why it is important to cultivate positive expectations.

Not only does one’s physical reality represent the perceiver’s internal experience, with 100 percent fidelity, physical reality’s consistency depends on momentum created by the act of perceiving, making it much more likely one will continue having experiences consistent with one’s dominant perceptual focus.

Momentum equals experience probability.

Taking a nap would have reset Perry’s positive momentum, thus affording him a better rest of his day. What happened instead was both clarifying and hilarious.

He decided to take the car to the other repair shop and get his old glasses. The other repair shop is across town. Not walking distance like the first shop.

Now Perry doesn’t like to drive in traffic. This was all happening after lunch on a week day. So he could expect traffic to be less than it would have been in the morning, evening or at lunch. But guess what?

That’s right.

Not only did Perry get stopped by virtually every traffic light, he also got “stuck” behind every slow driver, bus, tractor trailer…you name it…it came into Perry’s path.

When he finally got to the repair shop, a woman was just getting into her car to leave. Her street-side parking spot was choice. Perry pulled just behind her, turned on his signal and waited.

And waited.

And waited.

The more he waited, the more Perry could feel his frustration rise. What the hell was the woman doing in there?

Considering the drive over, Perry’s frustration could be cut with a knife. And the more he focused on his frustration, the more frustrated he got.

Meanwhile, the woman was not leaving.

That’s when two guys came out of the shop and jumped in their pick up sitting in a curbside parking spot across the street from the parked woman.

The truck started. Perry turned his other turn signal on.

But they didn’t move either. Instead, the driver and passenger started smoking!

Unbelievable!

Just when his frustration was peaking, Perry had a cathartic epiphany about this day the last two-weeks, and he his and his wife’s experiences on their vacation. Then, in that realization, something in him gave way.

The peace and well-being Perry knew to be his norm returned in a flood of relief, clarity and awareness.

And in that moment, Perry looked to the left. Inside the repair shop parking lot: there right next to the front door…

…was an open parking space.

No one had left. It had been open all this time.

Perry laugh out loud as he pulled in, went into the shop, got his glasses, then drove home….

….and then took a nap.

It was the best nap ever.

Normalizing Enlightenment Is Within Our Grasp

A polarized world is the best time to have what you deeply desire.

There is no better time to get what you want than when others are strongly asking for what they want. Especially if what they want is the opposite of what you want!

It’s obvious everyone “on all sides” is stridently asking for what they want. The problem is, they’re going about it wrong.

Instead of using their most powerful inherent capability, they are trying to get what they want through action.

Mostly, destructive, negative action.

Pity. Kind of.

We say “kind of” because every kind of asking for what you want eventually brings it to you. But you can have what you want so much easier, faster and more fun doing it different.

The good news is, the stronger people ask through action, fighting against what they don’t want and arguing with those who oppose them in the process, soon they end up saying “fuck it”.

And in that relaxation, they find the “loosening” of enlightenment, which causes them to quickly have what it is they’re asking for.

What is enlightenment

It’s nothing special. Well, it’s special only because few people have it. Even so, those who do have it realize it’s not that special. All it is is an awareness of one’s inherent grace, realized through a practiced happiness-for-no-reason that has become chronic. It is accompanied by the receiving of all one is wanting as a result of that.

Once those things start showing up, one realizes their inherent invincibility, born of their life experience demonstrating to them without a shadow of a doubt that they create the life experience they live.

It’s hard to see how true those words above are when you’re embroiled in bitter arguments online or in your family or among your friends about any of the myriad topics in physical reality which vie for your attention these days.

But the moment you begin turning away from those things, you find peace. And in that peace – if you hold it long enough – you rediscover your power.

From there, you literally become unstoppable.

What enlightenment feels like: Grace given. Grace received. Getting all you want. That includes material and financial success. Awareness that you’re getting all you want. Perpetual happiness as a result of that. Freedom coupled with a sense of adventure for life. Broader perspective expanding beyond your physical senses, allowing you to take in far more of what you are than just your physical experience defined by your physical senses.

In short, it feels like an ongoing joyful expression of love.

But it is not a permanent thing nor is it a final stage. You don’t “become enlightened” and thus “know it all”.

You have to continuously nurture it and along with that you receive an ongoing broadening awareness which encompasses more and more “knowing.”

The payoff of all that is a life you thought unimaginable.

Until you start living it.

Yes, it can come in a flash of inspiration.

But it is more fun to see it gradually develop, alongside your continued refinement of it. For you’re always becoming more than you are. That’s why you’re eternal.

None of this will ring true for you until you begin realizing evidence of it in your life experience.

Now imagine an entire civilization living from this place. What could be possible?

Some say “There will always be murder, crime, greed and the other vices. You’re arguing for a leftist Utopian fantasy.”

And we say, “You only think that because you haven’t tasted the sweetness of living that we know. And you spend far too much time putting your attention on physical reality. When you stop doing that, you’ll change your tune. And everyone does sooner or later. For some, it takes dying: Everyone who dies ends up in exactly the state we’re describing.”

But you don’t have to wait to die to realize enlightenment. It’s there for you whenever you’re ready.

The good news is, once you start down that path, there’s no turning back. You’re going to be enlightened. And in your enlightenment, you make room for the enlightenment of others.

So whether we consciously normalize it or not, a normalized enlightenment is a fait accompli.

One that is within our grasp.

Here’s One Of Two Things You Need To Know To Become A Life Master

We mention “the moment of becoming” frequently. The reason is, when you get it, and practice using it, you become invincible.

People give up on happiness because they don’t understand how to make it permanent.

They give up on dreams because they don’t know how dreams become reality.

Living from the moment of becoming, you become a life master.

Everything is possible.

If this is accurate – and it is – knowing about the moment of becoming is vital, yes?

So we’re going to describe what the moment of becoming is. This is not new information. There are lots of sources talking about this.

Then we’re going to back up and try to describe it in a way that it makes sense (at least to us 🙂 ).

Ready? Here we go:

What it is: The moment of becoming is the decision point which stands outside of time and space, where you as an enduring personality essence, deliberately choose events you want to experience in your ongoing life experience.

If you got that, you are now looking through a doorway of awesome potential.

Now let’s try to flesh it out a bit.

 

Life experience: what it’s made of

Two “places” comprise experience. You’re very familiar with one.

You probably call it “reality”. It is the world around you; the physical world, which includes thoughts and ideas as they exist in your brain and the brains of others.

The physical world, therefore, is composed of matter.

Matter comes in many forms, including events, communication you are most familiar with (electronic, verbal, physical, visual etc.), particles of all kinds, and forces you take for granted, can’t see, but nonetheless experience the effect of, such as wind, gravity and heat.

Anything you can experience with your physical sense organs is part of physical “reality”.

That’s the first “place”.

Now for the second.

The vast majority of humanity speculates about, says it “believes in”, or claims to “know” about this.

And yet people rarely if ever experience it. So they don’t really know about it. If they did, they’d not only be perpetually happy, they would have all they want, living their dream lives.

Clearly that’s not happening for most people.

Physical senses can not perceive this second place, so it is difficult to describe in physical terms. But it is no less real.

Gravity can’t be perceived with physical sense organs either. Only the effect of gravity can. Certain sounds and colors also are examples of unseen yet no less real phenomena. These exist outside the narrow band of sound and color physical sense organs can perceive.

So something existing as real, but imperceptible via physical senses should be a familiar idea. Yes?

Words fall short in describing this second place.

So, let’s call it by what it isn’t.

Let’s call it “non-physical.” It is “anything that exists outside of physical reality.”

We’re not going into any detail on non-physical. We’re describing what the moment of becoming is, not non-physical.

But we do need a context within which to describe that. The context is “non-physical”.

The moment of becoming is the “space” “between” these two “places”; physical and non-physical. It is the “intersection” – so to speak – the catalyzing “event moment” through which that which is in non-physical becomes physical.

An excellent, easy to understand real-life example of this catalyzing moment is how a human comes into the physical world. Science hasn’t figured this out yet.

A personality essence, the enduring, fundamental basis of what you are, emerges from non-physical into physical, presumably, through birth.

Humans focus on the “birth” moment as the main event. That’s why they ask “when you were born?” instead of say, “when were you conceived?” or “when did you decide to come into physical reality?”

Never the less, the following should be easy to understand.

There are many, many processes, events and collaborations that had to occur so that your birth was possible. Right? An endless stream of connections, activities, thoughts, and interactions stretching back through time and space, involving many, many people are responsible for your birth.

Your parents and their parents and their parents, etc., all had to be conceived, born, grow up, meet, date, develop affection, grow intimate, have sex…

You get the point? That’s a no-brainer, right?

All these events were coordinated. They seemingly occurred well before your birth. Let’s go with that.

Because of this, you can trace an unending stream of activity in the physical world making your birth possible.

At some point, however, you had to choose.

You had to choose to take that defining moment to “insert” your personality essence into this endless activity stream. (We’re making a separation of events here that actually doesn’t exist, but must be manufactured for clarity.)

In the context of the process culminating in you getting here, in your body through birth, the decision to focus who you are at your essence into physical reality is analogous to the moment of becoming.

That event, your focusing of yourself into the process of your birth, happened “before” you were born. And you made the decision.

You made the decision because you knew the experience you would have here would be a delightful, rambunctious, risk free, unlimited experience representing a wondrous adventure.

And so now, you’re here, having that adventure.

“Some adventure,” you may say.

With Trump and the alt-right, Rachel Maddow and the alt-left, environmental destruction or any other experience you interpret as “bad” “dangerous” or “too painful to bear”…you might find it difficult to see life experience as “risk free” or an “adventure”.

But when you mistake a rope coiled in the corner to be a snake, the rope is still a rope.

So here’s the explanation again: The moment of becoming is the decision point which stands outside of time and space, where you as an enduring personality essence, choose events that comprise your ongoing life experience.

It is a decision point.

It is outside of time and space.

In it you choose what you want to experience in your life experience.

And you ongoingly have access to it.

Now, because the moment of becoming literally catalyzes the existence of matter along the lines of what you’re wanting to experience, it is very powerful.

This is why it is the seat of life mastery.

A person who chronically focuses her attention there has the ability to shape matter and events here, in the physical world.

Life mastery results when a person deliberately and predominantly focuses attention in the moment of becoming rather than IN-deliberately and predominantly focusing attention in physical reality.

Now, your physical sense organs compel a chronic focus on physical reality. “Why” is irrelevant for the purpose of this writing. But the compelling nature of your senses is not absolute.

When you learn to shift your attention consistently enough, your life experience will astound you as it demonstrates that you want to experience to the exclusion of that you don’t.

This is why the moment of becoming is so vital. Life mastery is awareness of the moment of becoming and knowingly using it to create your life experience.

If you can create your life experience, and you can, then aren’t you invincible?

Making A Case For Ignoring “Reality”

If you’re like most people, you’re paying way too much attention to the world around you.

Seems like an asinine statement, right? Like, where else should I pay attention?

To the moment of becoming if you want life mastery

A life master once said “The only difference between a common mortal and a Buddha is that one knows he is a Buddha, the other does not.”

Those are the words of “the original Buddha” written by his hand in a treatise about enlightenment. He wrote those words to inspire human beings to aspire to life mastery aka Buddhahood, aka enlightenment.

We’ve quoted this sentence a lot because it reveals a lot.

Life mastery is nothing other than being able to create a life which exceeds one’s deepest desires.

And more.

Looking around the world of what is, you see most humans in one of three states:

  • Trying to realize a few rather humble dreams because the person has been shown (by the world) that their big dreams are impossible (they’re not). Or…
  • Living a minuscule fraction of their potential because they’re no longer able to dream big because dreaming is either uncomfortable (it brings up feelings of unworthiness, lack of efficacy or both) or seen as a waste of time, which is a different dimension of feeling unworthy.
  • Living some really big dreams (such as immense wealth) while simultaneously experiencing impoverishment in other parts of their lives

Life mastery is about getting all you want. And more.

In every sense.

Mastery doesn’t only include the intangibles such as spiritual fulfillment, happiness, or emotional stability at or near constant joy/love. It also is getting all you want materially.

THE WORLD IS BIG ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE EVERYTHING THEY WANT.

But if you’re ignoring that one place where everything you want comes from, you’re not only not likely to get what you want, you also won’t believe getting what you want is even possible.

Or, you believe getting what you want is somehow wrong, immoral, unjust or must come at the expense of others or personal sacrifice.

Getting all you want and more is the success indicator of life mastery.

NOT getting what you want is a symptom. It indicates a condition where a person is spending too much time looking at the world around them.

“Looking at” also means “listening to.”

Chronically looking at the world around you will cause you to shrink. It will cause your dreams to shrink. It will train you into unworthiness.

Until it doesn’t.

It doesn’t when you pay more attention to your seat of power, the only place you have total control of your life experience. That power place is the moment of becoming.
