Positivity Is The Secret To The Best Life

We shared a day in Perry’s life where small “pearls” prove he lives on cloud nine. The less effort you put into trying to get what you want, the easier life gets.

Other people are key. The Universe coordinates other people coming into your life. People showing up are pathways to what you want. The Universe puts them there according to your instruction. When you give it clear instruction, your desires come fast. That’s how life gets easy.

Today we’re sharing more examples from Perry’s life show how easy life can be. Give clear instruction, and the Universe gives you what you want.

Last month Perry noticed how much is going right in the world. He trends positive about most things. But that day, amazement was near constant. The world is getting better and better. Even if you think it’s not.

Feeling super-positive that morning, Perry checked his email. Two notification emails mentioned the same long time friend. Let’s call him Leon. One notification came via Facebook. The other via Patreon.

Leon follows Perry’s work with Copiosis.  Turns out last night he decided to support Perry’s work. The Patreon email said Leon became a $20 monthly Patron.

Perry spent a moment enjoying that news. Then he wondered why Leon changed his mind after so long. So he contacted him.

Leon said he now gets the value and power of Perry’s positive focus. So he decided to support spreading the message.

positive comment blog

It was interesting timing. Perry feeling amazement. Then checking his inbox. Then talking to Leon. Good news everywhere.

Leon shared his new-found perspective and understanding. Meanwhile, Perry dashed off a graphic illustrating his perspective. Life gets better and better. Even what appears negative serves life’s positive long game.

Perry’s friend agreed, then wrote this:

Perry thought that was a great idea. If someone could show tangibly, or “prove” what Perry knew is the case, it could help others “see the light” too.

Perry knows of course. For him, it’s not something he “thinks”. Nor is it something he “believes”. There’s a difference between “thinking”, “believing” and “knowing”.

When you “think” something, you’re supposing. It’s not knowing. You’re not sure.

When you “believe” something, you think you “know”. But there’s a difference between the two. Believe something long enough and you can know it. That’s because beliefs create reality (for the person who believes).

But knowing is distinct. It’s visceral awareness confirmed through personal life experience.

You’re Getting Everything You Want

Ever notice when you want something, yet don’t spend a lot of time or energy trying to make it happen, it happens faster?

You probably don’t notice. You’re not paying attention. So you miss how fast it comes.

It’s a lot like time. When you’re bored, you notice how slowly time passes. You watch the clock. Time seems like it runs backwards.

When you’re engaged and excited, time passes fast. You don’t notice it. When you notice time, like when you’re bored, it passes slow.

Now try this: look at your clock. Watch the clock until the minute changes. Notice how long it takes a minute to pass. Felt like a long time, yes? They say a watched pot never boils…

The same is true with what you want. The more you notice it’s not there, the longer it takes to come.

That’s because when you want something, you notice it’s missing. You think you focus on wanting that thing. But you can’t help notice the opposisite. What you want is not there.

Don’t pay much attention to the thing you want. It will come faster. That’s what happens now in your life. You don’t notice this though because it happens so quick. And because you aren’t noticing it.

In these cases, you notice something you want. Then forget about it. The larger part of you creates it instantly in your moment of becoming. Then it organizes events and people so you can have it in your “reality”.

Because you’re not paying too much attention you make room for the organizing. Then, voila! It shows up.

This happens a lot. So often you don’t notice.

For things you really want, though, it rarely happens this way. It can. But doesn’t.

The reason is obvious. You’re slowing things down. Now that you know what you know, you can fix it. It just takes practice.

So here was Perry having this conversation. He agreed with Leon how cool it would be if someone objectively proved the world gets better. But Perry didn’t need this evidence. He knew already. So he didn’t care as much.

It would be nice though if someone did that work. Wrote a book perhaps…

That’s as far as Perry took it. Leon said he has a brother who has a Math PhD. He said he’d ask his brother if he’d look into it. Perry thought this was cool too, but didn’t think too much about that either.

After the conversation, Perry got ready for his dentist appointment. The conversation ended in time for him to get dressed, floss and brush his teeth and walk to the dentist about a mile away.

He arrived ten minutes before his appointment. It was a pleasant walk, in warm sunny weather. Everyone in the office was happy. At least everyone Perry talked with.

Usually, Perry gets his teeth cleaned by Sabrina, his hygienist. At the end of the appointment, the dentist does the exam. This time the dentist was busy with a difficult patient. Perry heard him talking with the patient in the other room. They were talking through an interpreter. The case sounded really difficult.

Dentist blog

Next thing Perry knew, the dentist was there examining his teeth. The hygienist hadn’t finished. Perry asked the dentist what was up.

“I came in to see you now because I’ve got this difficult case over there,” the dentist said. “If I didn’t come do your exam now, it probably would be a while.”

This happens frequently. It’s like Perry’s the center of the universe. Little things remind him. Like a dentist’s Inner Being telling him to examine Perry’s teeth rather than making Perry wait.

Your life works this way too. The more you’re positively focused, the more evidence shows up that life is this way. Or rather, the more you can see that life happens this way. Because it is this way. You just can’t see it.

· · ·

After Perry’s appointment he walked home, teeth shiny and clean. At home an article caught his interest. It was about Andrew Yang, a democratic presidential candidate Perry follows. Two things happened at that point.

Several weeks ago, another friend introduced Perry to people belonging to this thing called the Intellectual Dark Web (IDW). Several of these people’s stories didn’t make sense. They seemed to be progressives, but progressives hated them.

He didn’t understand this. But wanted to.  He also didn’t want to spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. So he didn’t.

On this day, though, he came across this article on Yang. It contained a link to another article. That article was about people in the IDW. The link answered all Perry’s questions. It even introduced Perry to a website created about these intellectual renegades.

Perry remembered a few weeks back thinking “I’d like to know more about what IDW is.”  But didn’t pursue the answer. And an article about IDW fell into his lap.

Notice the pattern. Perry having a positively focused day. Then a friend becoming a $20/mo. patron. Then a great conversation with that guy. Then a flawless dental appointment, followed by a wonderful walk home. Then an answer to a question he asked a week before. We’re showing you how to give the Universe your instructions.

The next day, Perry was talking with someone who responded to a story he published on Medium. There, Perry shared the same pendulum graphic he shared with his friend on Facebook. The commenter wrote back, suggesting a book from the author Steven Pinker.

Steven Pinker blog

Perry never heard of this book or the author. When he read it, it amazed him.

Remember Perry’s friend, Leon, said it would be a good idea if someone proved what Perry knows? That’s what Steven Pinker did in his book! It describes exactly what Leon wanted to know.

Of course, Perry told Leon.

Now it should be mentioned a LOT of people disagree with this book’s thesis. We do too. So does Perry. Reality is SUBJECTIVE. You make it what it is. That “what is” is “for your eyes only”, which is a really great James Bond film…

The point is, the planet and reality are both “big”. Big and sophisticated enough to hold all perspectives.

Which is why Perry needs no objective evidence for his knowing.

Still, were all these events, which happened in the course of a few days, coincidence?

We know the answer is “no”. So does Perry. Perry knows when you’re positively focused, life is this way. It’s this way for people who aren’t positively focused too. But they don’t see it.

They don’t see it because what they’re getting is consistent with their life-view.  See the world as negative, the world is that way. If you think things can’t change, they don’t.

Life gets better for everyone. Even negative people. But not nearly as fast as it could.

And it’s far less fun.

Want to be in on the fun? Then you gotta be positively focused. Here’s how to start, today.

The Best Argument For Living With Your Head In The Clouds

Where you're meant to be FB blog

In every life instant, amazing experiences are happening. A dizzying number.

Even in your life, these things are happening. You don’t recognize them if your awareness is limited by negative thinking. But the more positively focused you become, the better you see.

“Yeah, right,” you might scoff. “My life is busy. I don’t have time to stop and smell the roses. Get your head out of the clouds.”

Having your head in the clouds is the prerequisite to living life on cloud nine. Why do you think humans have the saying “living on cloud nine” in the first place? Or having one’s “head in the clouds”?

It’s not because it’s a fantasy. For some it’s real.

But that’s how life is supposed to feel for everyone. Not only a few.

On cloud nine, you live in bliss, you see evidence everywhere that your dreams are becoming real.

Not “becoming real” metaphorically like a dream. But in real life.

Out of life’s beautiful complexity, you meant to choose life experiences matching your dreams. You knew your life could match your dreams before you got here.

That’s why you’re here now.

As more dreams came true your life would feel unreal. More dreams would come true. Then more. Then more.  And then you’d happily leave physical reality behind.

By “life” we don’t mean this life only. We mean all your lives. Lives you’re living in many dimensions. So many it makes no sense counting them.

yolo blog
You only live once…or do you?

But you’re human. As human, you narrow your larger awareness into this one human experience. It seems like you have only one life to live. You Only Live Once (YOLO), they say.

But they are wrong. You’re eternal. And you can know that as sure as you know you are reading this.

Many reading this would like what they’re reading to be true. They have trouble finding evidence of this in their lives though.  They have no proof these words are accurate.

If you’re one of these readers, take heart. The only reason you don’t have evidence is your awareness is limited by beliefs you have. You can’t see the evidence because you don’t believe it’s there.

But evidence surrounds you. A quick story to illustrate.

Evidence Appearing Invisible Only Is When You Can’t See It

One day, after a week away on vacation, Perry’s wife Bridget came home, unpacked and checked in on her pet rabbit. She didn’t want to burden Perry with taking care of the rabbit while on vacation. She already had him taking care of the cats. So she had a friend do it.

During her vacation, she still worried about the rabbit. A lot. Bridget worries about a lot a lot.

At first, she didn’t know Perry was feeding and watering the rabbit. Even though her friend and Perry himself told her that.

Rabbit text blog

Not long after she returned from her trip, even though only two hours had passed since Perry told her that he had been feeding the rabbit, Bridget, in a panic, sent this:

Food bowl blog

Now, here is the interesting thing. In the picture above, you see an empty food bowl. It could have been empty because the rabbit ate all the food. Either way, you don’t see the entire picture. This is how you might see your own life.

Below is a larger perspective of the entire rabbit cage. Notice the full food bowl on the left. It seems obvious Bridget should have seen the full bowl. The whole picture.

Rabbit cage blog2

Logical right? Why didn’t she?

Because her beliefs prevented her from seeing it. That’s why. She said she worried her whole vacation about the rabbit. That worry created a reality where – for Bridget – the rabbit hadn’t been fed. Even though in Perry’s reality, the rabbit had been fed.

The point is, just because you can’t see evidence of something doesn’t mean it’s not there. It is. It only means you must learn how to see it. “Learning” usually means expanding your awareness beyond your beliefs. The best way to do that is by living with your head in the clouds. Or better said: living Positively Focused.

This is what we talk about through this blog. Positively Focused is more than a clever title. It’s the state of being required to see the evidence. Evidence of what?

Evidence you live a charmed life. That you live on cloud nine.

When you get Positively Focused, your vision gets clearer and clearer. Not only do you see plenty evidence. That evidence piles up so high life gets amazing.

Your larger awareness deluges you with cloud nine evidence. That includes lovers, material success, life satisfaction and fulfillment. If you’re not getting what you want, it’s because of where you believe. Just like Bridget couldn’t see a reality different from her beliefs.

Some will say disparagingly “this sounds like the movie The Secret”. Many think that movie was too material oriented. Some think it bullshit.

It left out a lot.

Your life experience isn’t about collecting a bunch of stuff. It’s about realizing you’re eternal. It’s about realizing your absolute control over your life experience. It’s about knowing, you create your reality. How do you know? Through experiencing yourself creating your reality.

Difference blog

Then it’s about taking that knowledge and creating your best life. Day by day, as you go along.

Material Pursuits Are The Spiritual Practice

Since “life” happens in physical matter, “things” can help you realize you create your life. This is why The Secret focused so much on “things”. Things and experiences are “the stuff of life”.  “Physical” life is as “real” as “spiritual” life (i.e. nonphysical) gets. Because physical life experience is spiritual experience taken to its maximum experiential extent.

Physical life is the ultimate expression of spiritual life. At least it is to humans.

You knew that when you decided to become human. The ecstatic, profound immersion experience you have on Earth keeps you coming back.

Perry’s life demonstrates this truth to him all the time. His awareness is getting bigger. So he sees more evidence than most. Sometimes it’s little pearls. These are everyday experiences where life goes wonderfully.

Zoe Holling spiritual practice FB blog
Material pursuits are a spiritual practice (Photo: Zoe Holling)

And there are great big platinum/level experiences. Realizations that astound him. Perry knows both little pearls and platinum level experiences are the stuff of life. Both are equal in validity. None greater than the other.

The more he comes into his knowing, the more profound Perry’s pearls. And the bigger the Platinum-level realizations get.

That’s why Perry’s knowing is solid. His conviction too. Every realization, every manifestation that happens is one more brick in a gargantuan wall of evidence.

Sure, he still doubts sometimes. But those moments are rarer than ever.

You can know too. It just takes a little practice.

Perry writing now: it’s true. I once wanted to believe this stuff. But now, so much of what my Inner Being has told me has happened, it’s impossible not to know.

· · ·

Today, we want to share what happened one morning this past week. (the week we are writing this which is the week of March 24-29, 2019, even though it might not be published for a while)

We want to show you the small stuff, little clues Perry received. Remember, these are happening in such plenitude, it’s impossible to share them all. Perry would be writing nearly every moment about every moment!

We tell these stories to inspire readers. Not so you can copy what’s happening in Perry’s life. But so you can create your own snowflake. Your own unique, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious life experience consistent with what you believe would knock your socks off.

In other words, your own cloud nine.

Anything you want can be yours and is yours. You only must apply yourself so you become positively focused. Then you have it.

A Morning In Perry’s Charmed Life

On Sunday, Perry decided he wanted to get some camping utensils. He promised Bridget he’d also run to Trader Joes (TJs). Perry planned to go straight to TJs first. That would have been the logical order. Grocery shop before TJs got crowded. The other stops were closer to home.

But he got inspired to get the utensils first. Dick’s Sporting Goods was less than 10 minutes away. On his way, he got another inspiration: stop by this old cemetery even closer to home.

First leg blog
First trip: to the cemetery instead of Dick’s

You’re following your Inner Being, larger perspective, god, or whatever you want to call it. Such guidance never looks like a straight-line destination to your goal. It’s always a roundabout trip. Many reasons explain this.

First, you’d get bored if things happened fast. In other words, you prefer the long route. Second your larger perspective is coordinating with everyone else’s. So often, a circuitous trip is necessary. That’s because, rendezvous with others must be coordinated. You get what you want, while participating others get what they want also.

So what looks like what Abraham calls a “wild goose chase” is actually purpose-designed, as you’ll soon see in Perry’s experience.

So Perry went to this Columbia Historical Cemetery. It was an interesting visit. When he arrived, he assumed he’d get inspiration for drone images or other photography. But he didn’t see anything inspiring. He stayed there maybe 15 minutes.

Then he headed to Dicks’. The utensils he wanted cost almost $20 at Dicks’. Ridiculous! Perry thought. He bought all three utensils previously for $1 each (a knife, fork and spoon) at REI.

Knowing he could get a better deal, he left. Now he could have gone to Amazon.com and get any number of sets. Some less than what he paid. The cost wasn’t the point. It was the journey that unfolded.

On his way out, he got his next inspiration: try out the outdoor store next to Dicks’. It caters mainly to conservatives. Being liberal in most respects, Perry tends to support liberal-minded stores. In this case, he didn’t second guess his intuition.

“Whatever” he said, and went in.

Despite is apprehension he received great and kindly service. He also found exactly what he was looking for, for exactly the same price he paid before, more than seven years ago. Only they were a nicer color.

utensils blog
The camping utensils, had for $1 each.

They were also a two-thirds less than what Amazon.com sold them for.

So following his impulses, and not second guessing or prejudging them, gave him what he wanted. At a great price.

But that wasn’t all.

One dream Perry is allowing into his existence is owning a brand new Ford F-150 pickup truck. According to Abraham, you know you’re lined up with your desire when you see it everywhere.

Here’s an excerpt from Perry’s journal, written the day of this trip:

Then, on my way out [of the sporting goods store], my heart skipped a beat when I saw this gorgeous F-15. While I was taking these pictures (I didn’t miss this Source!) there were five other F-150s driving around me. It was pretty awesome. I get it too. I’m right on the verge of this realization. SO cool.

While Perry took pictures of this truck, five other F-150 owners drove by, at exactly the same time. A dark blue one, a silver one, two maroon ones and another white one.

F150 three quarters blog
The truck Perry is attracting into his life experience, spotted in the sporting goods store parking lot.

This is why your desires unfold in a roundabout way. If Perry had gone directly to the sporting goods store, the six trucks simultaneous experience wouldn’t have happened. But because he followed his intuition, he arrived in that spot with perfect timing so he could have this experience.

After that Perry went to TJs. Even though the store was crowded, he had an in-and-out experience. He had a wonderful conversation with the checker and even got a great parking spot in the TJ parking lot. If you ever shopped at TJs, you know how tight their parking lots are! Especially at peak times.

The whole trip blog
The final entire trip.

Now, these experiences might sound like coincidence. They might sound like no big deal. And they are, until they start happening to you regularly. This was one day in a week of such experiences. We’ll share more next time.

· · ·

Our point today is, you’re surrounded by evidence of the charmed life you live. Your cloud nine life. If you don’t experience a cloud nine life experience, it’s not because you aren’t having one. You just can’t see the evidence.

The same way Perry’s wife couldn’t see the full rabbit food bowl.

You can live with your head in the clouds. It’s not a fantastical dream. It is reality for everyone. Most don’t experience it because they believe it’s fantastical.

It is not fantastical. It’s real.

But only to those who are positively focused.

Brit Marling Knows. So Can You.

Zal_Batmanglij_&_Brit_Marling_(6998271749) blog
Brit Marling (right) talking with friend Zal Batmanglij. (Photo: maybeMaybeMaybe, CC BY-SA 2.0)

Her films are gorgeous, quirky, thought-provoking art you either love or hate. But more important, Brit Marling’s career trajectory to film making stardom shows how you can find success simply by following your inner guidance.

Your inner guidance knows better than societal, parental or even your own ideas of how to become successful.

Hard work is never the best path to success. It can and does work. And almost everyone who “makes it” will say that’s what they did. But we’re telling you, that’s not what’s happening and that’s not what made them successful.

There are a LOT of examples we could share. But Marling’s is timely.

One, because her newest Netflix show The OA dropped it’s Part II and it’s amazing. Two, because we love her quirky storytelling which explores themes dear to us. And three, because she chose to follow her inner guidance over practicality, even though the practical route was blue-chip certified, guaranteeing her a seat at the elites’ table.

Kicking guaranteed success to the curb, she succeeded nevertheless.

Having trouble understanding the difference between following your inner guidance and doing the practical thing? Listen to Marling’s story.

Once a Goldman Sachs analyst, fast tracking in her mother’s footsteps on her way. But the job was making her sick. Doctors (supporters of the being “realistic”) had a fix.

But Marling had a better idea: she quit Goldman Sachs and pursued film making.

The result? Successful films, an outstanding series currently on Netflix and a life she won’t trade for anything. All not possible had she literally swallowed the (anti-depression) pill in order to stay at Goldman Sachs.

Everyone can have their own version of her story. But not when you’re thinking hard work is the way to success.

· · ·

But Perry, what about those who struggle, never realizing success the likes of Marling and others?

That’s why we need a better national infrastructure. One that makes it easy for people to follow their inner guidance. The reason so many fail following their inner guidance isn’t so much because they suck at it. It’s because society sucks at supporting them doing that.

Dont follow your passion blog
Many people write articles about NOT following your inner guidance. Why is that?

That’s why “don’t quit your day job” is so popular. And so often followed.

That’s also why so many advise against following your inner guidance. Even though doing so can work, our infrastructure is built against people doing that.

But that’s changing.

Meanwhile, Marling shows the best human output comes from following one’s inner guidance. So the question is, are you following yours?

Want to? Here’s where to start.

M Night Shyamalan On How Powerful You Are

I watched Glass last night. I walked away astounded. You should see it.

(There are no spoilers here)

Glass is M Night Shyamalan‘s latest movie. It is the final piece of a trilogy chronicling superheroes’ origins. Unbreakable was part one. Split is part two.

Shyamalan made his name famous with stunning plot twists in his early films. His most successful back then being Sixth Sense.

Later his name got associated with crap. That’s what he produced in the middle of his career.  He got lost, producing flop after flop.

Somewhere in there, though, he made Unbreakable. It showed Shyamalan still had something to say. In Glass, he said it.

Shyamalan told Rolling Stone Disney heads dampened Unbreakable’s box office success billing it as a “spooky thriller”. It was not that. It’s a superhero movie. But nothing like DC or Marvel movies with all that action and mayhem. Unbreakable is subtle. It reaches into your soul. Using no special effects, it makes its superhero real.

Like you.

Had Shyamalan had his way, Unbreakable would have done much better. He wanted it billed a comic book movie.

Unbreakable- split blog
Split Poster: Universal Pictures Unbreakable: Touchstone Pictures

I saw Unbreakable seven times. It calls to me. It calls to all of us. Can you hear it?

It describes how I feel about humanity: humanity itself is unbreakable, untouched by life’s circumstances. I know humanity is far more than its circumstances and far more than human. Every one of us are creating everything we’re experiencing, including each other. And we are doing that ongoingly and co-creatively.

That’s Shyamalan’s message too. It runs all the way through Split and spurts out in glorious form at Glass‘ finale. Far from making “spooky thrillers”, Shyamalan is speaking to all of us. What is he saying? You are unique, shine your life. Create the reality you want. The Universe actively supports you.

I know this because he says as much in the Rolling Stone article. He spoke it plainly again on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show.

If you read what I tend to write, I usually write from my broader “we” perspective. I also write a lot about experiences I have in my life. Experiences exactly like Shyamalan told Colbert. Such experiences happen today more than ever. I don’t dismiss them as coincidence because they aren’t.

I know through 30-plus years practicing what I know –– first through meditation, amplified through esoteric martial arts, then briefly through Christianity and followed by 10 years practice with Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism.  Then again through esoteric martial arts and more meditation before aligning with Abraham for the last 10 years. All this background and experiential evidence, told in my writing, convinces me this is how life works.  I share my experiences knowing others want clarity I have.

That’s why I resonate with Shyamalan’s movies. He’s sharing what he knows. What I know. And he’s doing it in a beautiful cinematic way.

Which brings me back to Glass. And to you.

Glass‘ grand message is: you’re special. The Universe knows it. And it wants to show you how special you are. But you have to live your authentic life. You have to stop worrying about what others might think about you or how you look.

And though a lot of forces try –– and often succeed –– in convincing you otherwise, everything you want, including a future matching your wildest dreams you already have. And you can make them real. Starting today.

You only have to believe.

· · ·

“Belief” is action. It is born from faith and leads to “knowing”. First a person has to not believe, but want to. That’s faith. “Wanting to believe absent proof”.

Faith tested, births belief if the teaching is accurate. If one persists, the faithful’s life experience rewards faith with corroborating evidence. Guidance and support from someone who demonstrates the teaching’s efficacy through their life experience is crucial. Their experience helps you see evidence you’d otherwise miss. With their help faith turns to believing, which is “intellectual understanding born of evidence”.

Belief isn’t the same as knowing. Knowing is becoming the teaching. It is borne from so much evidence in one’s own life experience, that life experience and the teaching become one.

“I can ride a bike, although I’ve never done so.” That’s faith.

“I can ride a bike because I understand the steps to doing so, even though I’ve never actually done it. I see others doing it. They can. So can I. Teach me.” That’s belief.

“I ride bikes. I do it all the time.” That’s knowing.

As a child, I knew I was the center of the universe.  All points of consciousness are the center of the universe. But like nearly all of us, I let my parents and my life experience at the time convince me otherwise. I lost the knowing. I became a common mortal.

I lost knowing I create the world around me. Life experience mirrored that belief. My life got chaotic and disorganized. My parents divorced. My mom forced me to relocate. In this new place I was teased and ridiculed for how I spoke and behaved. I was assaulted and threatened and robbed.

But my Broader Perspective kept sending signals, calling me back to my knowing. I heard these. But everyday reality had me dismiss them as coincidence, fleeting or random events back then.

Me in the Marines blog
Me in the Marines.

In my 20s, as a US Marine, surrounded by toxic masculinity and the ever-present possibility of combat, I fit in with the guys. Be normal. Which is to say be ignorant of my knowing.

I avoided my gender-neutrality, my transamory and my spiritual clarity. I traded my authenticity for the Marines’ Esprit de Corps, and everything else it meant to be a Marine.

There were cracks though. Through them my Broader Perspective reached me. As did my authenticity. I had dalliances. Spent late nights in gay bars. I fantasized. I met and befriended transgender women. And yearning for spirituality continued.

One night, fed up with life as it was, the young Christian me woke up. It was 3 a.m. in the Barracks at Camp Pendleton, California. Filled with loneliness, despair and an internal existential conflict, I challenged the Christian God. I said if he didn’t show himself or evidence of himself by sunrise, I wasn’t believing in Christianity anymore.  I lit a candle and prayed.

Reveille came. The candle long burnt out. No sign.

I kept my promise.

About a year later I was walking through streets on Okinawa. Living in Japan had been a childhood dream. Being there fulfilled another dream: training alongside the founder of the Bujinkan. Little did I know though, being in Japan sowed seeds that were the end of my Marine Corps identity.

A black car careened off the road onto the sidewalk. It came to a screeching stop right in front of me. Its black windows reflected my surroundings rather than allowing me to see who was inside. A door on the far side flung open. Out of the car came a beautiful older Japanese woman. She ran around the car and nearly collided with me.

She looked me in the eye. “You want to go to a buddhist meeting?”

I said yes.

Buddhism brought more meditation. Chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, studying the sutras and paying attention to my external reality was the first time in a long time I felt the knowing I felt as a child.

More cracks surfaced while working as an electric utility executive, then as an Intel Corporation manager. Authenticity’s voice got louder.

Then one day I realized I had enough of jobs. I had enough of compromising who I was to fit in…

Twelve years later, here I am. Tuned into my Broader Perspective. Seeing continual signs in my life experience that all people are gifted and glorious and reality creators.

Super human in other words.

Super heroes in Shyamalan’s words.

Abraham once told me in front of over a thousand others in the room: “There’s a reason you chose to come here as a human instead of a clump of dirt.”

We humans are special. We are above human, aka super human. This is what Shyamalan makes films about. This is what I write about. And that’s what resonated so deeply with me after watching Glass last night.

Shyamalan and I are of the same stream. Abraham once told me we humans are not so much individuals, separated from everything and everyone else, as we are a stream of consciousness composed of many others sharing our life experiences and we sharing theirs. I know this now. Which is why I usually refer to me as “we”.

What “we” are includes who others are.

I know this. Shyamalan knows this. In Glass, Shyamalan shares what we know. Go watch Glass. You may come to know too.

Everyone who accomplished something great did so facing massive criticism. Some harsher than others.

If you are crucified by the mainstream, congratulations. You are in good great company. Those who changed the world for the better are rarely liked.

That is, until their deed is done.

Facebook and Apple are not the kinds of “world changing” we’re talking about.

Changing humanity’s trajectory, significantly improving fundamental societal structures, and heralding in a new relationship between human beings –– these are the kinds of accomplishments we’re talking about.

When you’re up to something that significant you’re bound to attract those who hate what you are doing, those jealous of what you’re doing, those who fear what you’re doing.

You’re equally bound to attract those who love what you’re doing.

But if you’re up to something significant, you must remain true to what you’re doing and not let either the adoration or the hate beguile you you. For hate can easily turn to adoration and adoration turns to hate just as easily.

Humans are capricious.

Most of them would rather go along with the crowd. Most of them fear being ostracized by that crowd. And most of them also criticize that very same crowd.

Abraham calls the crowd “the peanut gallery”. Their opinion matters so little it’s not worth peanuts to such a one standing in their invincibility.

When you’re doing something significant, you’re likely to be alone in your pursuit. Something else Abraham says: It’s lonely on the leading edge. In the silence of that leading edgeness however, you discover life mastery.

· · ·

For those who know their invincibility, the peanut gallery’s opinion matters not one whit.

While it’s been often mis-attributed to Mahatma Ghandi, the homily, which more likely comes from union leader Nicholas Klein, still paints a compelling picture:

  • You’re first ignored
  • Then you are laughed at
  • Then they try to abuse you
  • Then they enshrine monuments to you

So many would-be world-changers give up when people ignore them. Or when they are laughed at. Many who get through those phases, give up when abuse shows up. The very few who continue reach the promise land of dreams fulfilled.

https://youtu.be/7CwY5atbYnE

Glory goes to those who fulfill dreams. Not to those who just dream them.

In today’s connected world, no human can deliberately plan events such that their voice rises above the noise.

But when allied with All That Is, providence steps in, orchestrating on behalf of the connected individual, events which seem like lucky breaks or coincidence.

More often, though, the best, divinely-inspired events look like bad luck. Horrible luck even.

Here is what separates those who are enshrined from those who go unrecognized.

The enshrined understand their enemy’s true value.

Antagonism serves the iconoclast well. For ridicule, abuse, negative attention and opposition all amplify their message.

Recently, Perry was a guest on a Facebook Live event. Actually, he was the main course, as the audience was furious at things he had said recently. They were looking for their pound of flesh. Two pounds really.

What was billed as a discussion could have been described as an ambush had Perry not already known what was going to happen. The host and her audience attacked and ridiculed and laughed at Perry, his lifestyle, his beliefs. They tried to take him to task for his perspective on the transgender community.

But Perry is invincible. There is no task a mob can take him to because Perry has clarity. He doesn’t need agreement from the peanut gallery, which is often ignorant and lost in the what-is-ness of life.

Interestingly, while many of the loudest voices pilloried him during the show, some less vocal people heard what he was saying. Their experience will dramatically change their lives.

Screen Shot 2018-09-27 at 04.17.59 AM

Though they will not be able to connect their participation in that event with life changes they will experience, the experiences will none the less offer opportunities otherwise not available.

Those who don’t understand you are going to ignore you. Those threatened by your authenticity are going to attack you. Then those who were ignoring you will join in the attack. Or they will watch from the sidelines. If you look like them, if they think you are part of their tribe they are going to try to force you to conform to their ideas of proper tribe behavior.

Very few tribes are as insecure and therefore fearful of change than the tribe known as “black people”.

But if you can continue, despite attempts to get you to conform to others’ opinion of how you should be, you will, over time, shape the world to your divinely-inspired opinion.

And you will discover how powerful you are. And how invincible you are.

Colin Kaepernick would not be where he is were he not shunned by the NFL and other major institutions including the Republican Party the casual racists and the rest of the peanut gallery.

People who have changed society or the world did so amidst harsh rebukes. Harsh rebukes are what people offer when they don’t understand.

For the world-changer, it’s best to let the peanut gallery do what it does best: assist in their own special way in your success.

Recognize attacks are part of the path and you win.

How Your Life Gives You All You’re Wanting Demonstrated By A Bike Ride

In most things you’re wanting, the way you’re going to get it is through people.

Sometimes that includes simple things like delightful, seemingly random (they aren’t random) meetings telling you you’re on your path.

Two days ago, after a wonderful meditation, Perry felt the urge to ride his bike along the lake where he and his wife are vacationing. He thought such a ride, about 20 miles round-trip, would be a nice experience.

But the tires on his bike had deflated a bit on the way to the lake.

Perry didn’t bring a pump. Instead of being disappointed about it, he saw it as a merry adventure: how was he going to inflate his tires? He was eager for the answer.

He looked around for a bike pump but found none. He did find a compressor though, with a tire-inflation tube attached, but the valve wasn’t the kind that would fit his bike.

Pump blog
A valve fitting meant for standard valves. Not the kind of valves on Perry’s bike.

That’s when he thought of those conversion valves which allow a pump to work on any kind of bike tube valve stem. Any bike shop carried these items, he knew, so he decided to ride his bike further into town to buy a couple.

The tires still had enough air in them to make the trip.

The way from the house to the lake trail is single-track, like a mountain bike trail. It’s rocky and bumpy and winds between trees and bushes, up hills and down. Perry enjoyed that part of the ride.

About two miles into the entire 22-mile ride, Perry got his first indication this ride was going to be interesting:

He realized he forgot the keys to his bike lock.

Now most people would think this is something that happens all the time. And it does. Your “higher self” your “inner being” “god”, “the Universe” whatever name you give it, is always communicating with you. The trick is, how open are you to receiving the messages?

Perry is open.

So instead of reacting in frustration or annoyance at forgetting his keys, he merrily turned around and headed back to the lake house. Doubling back, he saw something that looked like a black snake in the middle of the trail. As he approached it, the snake turned out to be his bicycle chain lock.

Perry had left the bike’s tool bag open. Riding over the open trail caused the lock to fly out of the bag.

That was Perry’s second realization.

· · ·

Now an interesting thing to note. Everything happens on purpose. So when All That Is (that’s the nomenclature we prefer) orchestrates an event like losing or forgetting your keys, there is a reason. As this story unfolds, you’re going to understand why.

So bear with us. The story gets much better.

(Right now as Perry writes this, he is reveling in the realization we have just alluded to. Since he knows the entire story, he already has made the connection. Before writing the paragraph above, he didn’t have this realization. You will get the point of this whole story at the end.)

· · ·

Perry’s ride back to his house set up the series of events that would not have happened had the ride back to the house not happened. And this is the case with everything happening in your life. Even when you lose something.

So Perry rode back to the house, got his keys, made sure the zipper on his tool bag was secure, then headed back towards the lake trail.

Along the trail he crossed paths with other bikers, all of whom smiled, waved or otherwise said hi to Perry. When you’re in the presence and aware of your Inner Being, your Inner Being matches you with people who are also in that state in the moment you are. So each of these micro-rendezvous were also indicators.

Having had these indicators and being aware of their receiving, Perry was prepared consciously, for the Big Event.

He followed the curve of the lake shore and came upon a white cargo van towing a trailer of equipment. It was parked parallel along the trail and the side closest to the trail was open. Inside the van was a man not much older than Perry, playing an upright piano.

Huh?

Jeff playing piano blog
Jeff Playing his piano out of his work van.

It was the strangest thing to Perry and it stuck out of his environment like a sore thumb.

Who keeps a piano in their work van?

The van was packed with cleaning equipment boxes, insulation and cleaning tools. But there was just enough room for the piano, a stool and the guy playing it. Perry rode past the van but then realized this meant something.

So he turned around.

They guy was playing 80s hits, Perry’s favorites in his 20s. After a resounding rendition of a tune from that era, the man turned around to see he had an audience.

What happened next was remarkable. They guy, Jeff, said hi then asked Perry for a song to play. He rambunctiously played it to Perry’s delight. Then, for what seemed like an hour Jeff and Perry talked about Southern California (where they both from) music (which they both love) the 80s, business and more. Jeff was restarting his very successful mobile detail business here in Idaho. He had just moved here from California where he had been tremendously successful detailing planes, boats and cars of “the very rich”.

The connection was so natural and easy for both Perry and Jeff. Like they were old friends.

Jeff said he was taking his lunch break, decided to do so at that spot, because he figured he would be able to do some marketing. His van has big signs on either side.

It was obvious to Perry that Jeff was naturally in tune with his Inner Being. Very successful in business, married to a very successful wife, Jeff had been living his life on his terms for all his life. Perry could tell Jeff was happy. And his life reflected that.

Who plays a piano on their lunch break?

But wait, there’s more.

While enjoying a chat old buds would have, an obviously affluent, older woman pulled up. She asked Jeff for his card, then told him she had a number of expensive boats she needed help with right away.

After several minutes, Jeff gave her his card, turned and flashed Perry a gigantic smile. Perry felt the satisfaction of his own life, reflected in that smile. Obviously Jeff and Perry were sharing a special moment.

Jeff blog

The woman left and Perry and Jeff both high-fived each other, excited about this real demonstration that life is lived best in a state of grace, a state of expectation that life is supposed to work out, always.

After the woman left, Jeff said something Perry will never forget.

Perry is in the process of growing four different companies, a couple of which are highly ambitious. So Jeff’s words were perfect. They were exactly what Perry was looking for.

“The best way to grow a company is organically,” Jeff said. “I’ve got [companies] contacting me online asking $600 a month to do marketing for me. But what I’ve found is best is letting it grow organically.”

We couldn’t agree more.

· · ·

The rest of Perry’s ride was equally monumental, with epiphanies and rendezvous which made the ride, enjoyable, yes, but also deeply meaningful.

And, had he not lost his keys, he would not have taken twice the time to reach the spot where Jeff and he met. That’s the kind of orchestration a human being can’t possibly manipulate into existence. And, everything you’re wanting –– no matter how big or small –– is being orchestrated by All That Is, your Inner Being and the Universe, what we refer to as your personalized trinity in exactly this way.

Every life moment can be this way for every one. No exceptions.

Perry more often than not exists in a state of perpetual strong connection to his personalized trinity after many years of practice, through multiple disciplines. So he is constantly realizing events in which people or animals or events coordinate just so to punctuate his good feelings with real-life demonstrations such as this one. Thus, he lives in a real, conscious state of invulnerability, knowing he and he alone creates his reality.

It wasn’t always that way for Perry. But that’s another story.

There is no end to how better life can get. Discovering you create your own reality and as such can live any life you choose is intoxicating. And, there is no ceiling to how good your life can get either.

Everything is possible.

Maybe you don’t believe that. If you allow it, your life will change that.

In future posts, we’ll be sharing more of Perry’s life experiences. We hope you enjoyed this one as much as we and Perry enjoyed sharing it with you.

Your life is a series of rendezvous with people and events bringing everything you are wanting. You came into the world to be happy.

There’s no better time to be happy than now.

You Already Offer The World Value. Focus On Being Happy. You’ll Get Everything You’re Wanting.

Aleksey Shkitenkov choose to be happy FB blog

The purpose of life is to be happy.

Value is something you can’t help but give. Have you noticed?

No matter what you’re doing, you’re offering value to some one or some thing. It’s part of what you come into the world naturally doing.

But happiness…that’s another story.

Perhaps your happiness is fleeting. Perhaps happiness to you is as capricious, and as impermanent, as any other emotion. So trying to think of it as something you can perpetually enjoy, as a steady life state, seems stupid to expect.

Especially when there is so much to witness that isn’t happy to look at. No wonder you shift your desire to usefulness or value over being happy.

But you come into the world to enjoy the adventure of being of value. And the enjoyment, i.e. the “happy factor” was supposed to be something akin to your body: just as your body has grown and become more as you have become older, so to was your level of happiness supposed to become more and more.

Likely that’s not the case, is it.

· · ·

People ask: “How can we be happy with all the suffering going on in the world?”

The rub in that question is, until you figure out how to be perpetually happy, you can’t understand the answer to the question you’re asking.

You become happy first. Then you discover the suffering you see isn’t what you think it is.

To understand the perpetual nature of happiness requires understanding something else that is the subject of great debate: your inherent free will.

Your free will is the nexus between value, your life experience and your happiness. Here’s how:

  1. You cannot help but create value for self and others because this whole thing called life experience is a massive collaboration the purpose of which is eternal expansion predisposed towards “better”. And that’s what you inherently are: life experience getting better.
  2. You can not help but exist here because that was (and continues to be) your intent. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. No one else is forcing you into your body, making sure you stay in your body, on earth, against your will. You’re doing it. And you’re doing it because you want to be here.
  3. And….in your free will, you can choose whether being here is fun or not. In other words, you’re free to put your attention anywhere you want while you’re here. And you can choose to use it to create whatever experience you like.

· · ·

However….

There is a part of you that remains where you came from. While here, you communicate between you and you through your emotions. Ever wonder WHY you have emotions?

Not many ask that question.

That’s why “being happy” appears fleeting. It’s only because you don’t know what it is, or how to use it.

Just like you probably don’t know how to use this:

What the hell is that? (Photo: City of Mesa)

But the moment you begin understanding what your happiness is for, you begin understanding a lot. Including what’s really going on here on Earth.

You can be perpetually, blissfully happy. But first you have to figure out what happiness is for. Then use it for what it was intended.

When you do, the world becomes your oyster. You get everything you want. And…you become invincible.

A Beginner’s Mind Makes Everything Possible

Johnny Sanchez invincible

Ever notice when you first do something, you’re really good at it? Whether it’s playing a game or trying a new skill, that first time often is our best.

It happens so often we call it “beginner’s luck.”

But it’s not really “luck” at all. It’s innocence.

Such a mind state is so powerful, it can even upset the seasoned players’ balance. The beginner has no stories/beliefs standing between her and virtuoso performance. No contrary thoughts, no fears, no expectations.

She’s innocent.

She doesn’t know any better. And that’s a good thing.

In a short time, however, her performance settles into the mean. She becomes a common mortal. Which is what she expects, of course. As do those around her.

(This is not a Christian writing, but we’re going to pluck a few stories from The Bible. You’ve been forewarned. 🙂 )

There’s a reason Jesus suggested¹ that in order for people to experience virtuoso performance in all they do and to have all they desire (e.g. enter the kingdom of heaven) they have to adopt a beginner’s mind (be like a child).

A mind dominated by positive expectations, to the exclusion of all else creates realities consistent with that: positive outcomes, to the exclusion of all else. A mind in a state of bliss is even better: it is open to all potentials consistent with All That Is, which leans or has a predisposition for “value fulfillment”.

You are All That Is. So cultivating a beginner’s mind brings you in concert with your essence, thus enabling you to achieve that which your stories may say is impossible.

Of course, cultivating a beginner’s mind is harder than “a camel passing through a needle” as Jesus² would say, because a “rich man’s” mind ( i.e. a worldly person, steeped in modern society’s stories of what’s possible, and more specifically what’s not) tends towards pessimism, frustration, “can’t be done”, cynicism, negativity and a whole host of other disempowering stories.

But even a common mortal faced with significant urgency can accomplish “the impossible”. A common mortal also can break through “truth” born of dominantly held societal beliefs and become, even if only for an instant, invincible.

All it takes is for one common mortal to unwaveringly believe and the entire world will bend to her bidding. Then she becomes a Buddha. Then anything is possible. For she has become a child.

The master knows after the 10,000th time, she is still a beginner.

Do you?

Your Invincibility Is As Close As Your Attention

Jeremy Perkins invincible
Photo: Jeremy Perkins

Invincibility is yours. And it’s closer than you think.

That’s a trick statement because “thinking” is what keeps you from experiencing your invincibility.

“Thinking” is also the key to getting your invincibility back.

When we use the word “invincibility”, we’re being literal, not metaphorical…

Your attention creates your life experience. We’re being literal here too. A person not used to looking at life that way, or a person who believes only science has all the answers, might be confronted by this literally accurate statement.

But there is no evidence to the contrary.

Give all your attention to what you see and you create more life experience consistent with that. Put your attention in the moment of becoming, however, and you tap into your real leverage. Your seat of power, creation and invincibility.

Your own life overflows with evidence demonstrating that your attention on life creates your life experience. People ascribe these examples to random chance, luck, or coincidence only because they infrequently notice them: they only notice them when they’re particularly stand out-ish.

So it seems such events are few and far between.

But when a person deliberately taps into the moment of becoming they realize these kinds of events are not random. Instead, they are happening all the time. In fact, there is never a time when they are not happening.

You just can’t see it happening because you’re not aware of the evidence. Or you dismiss them thanks to science. Science of course calls such experiences confirmation bias. Categorizing these events as “confirmation bias” keeps you feeling vulnerable.

Become aware of the evidence, however, and you discover evidence everywhere. Doubt turns to belief, belief to knowing.

Before you know it, life shifts.

The subjective point of consciousness (a human being) and the seeming object reality (the person’s life experience) merge in the person’s awareness. The two were never separate to begin with, but dominant beliefs create the experience of separation.

Over time though, what we’re describing soothes such beliefs and life experience transforms.

Before long the person recognizes he is ongoingly creating life experience in a perfect, self-perpetuating loop. Attention creates life experience and “attending” to life experience creates more life experience. Ad infinitum…

Literally.

That’s when life becomes fun, a game of sorts. The objective: perpetual joy, flow and fun.

Of course, you can’t be joyful if you’re not getting everything you want. It’s only natural then that you get that too: Everything you want. And more.

When you get to the point where life experience is an ongoing, deliberate creation born of your attention to what you’re wanting, and you see evidence of what you’re wanting coming to you day by day, or better, moment by moment, something extraordinary happens…

You realize no one and no thing has influence on your life experience.

But you.

That is invincibility. That is what you knew before you came here.

Invincibility: It’s closer than you think, because it’s a by-product of thinking.
