The Hidden Magic Behind What Felt Like a Head Cold

Most people don’t think of a head cold as a spiritual experience. I do, however. Because last week, what moved through my body didn’t feel like “sickness.” It felt like resolution, recalibration. A dense kind of recalibration — the kind that comes after deep release, when your system catches up to a new frequency.

This week’s posts, you may notice, were atypically about me more than anything else. That’s because I moved through some things this week. I moved through a lot of old beliefs carrying a lot of density. That “moving” culminated in the physical resolution today’s post is about.

By the end of the last week, I wasn’t just feeling better — I was radiant. Clear and inspired. In flow. But to get there, I had to let the body follow through on its divine function: integrate vibration into matter.

This past week, the body caught up with my being. It started with a scratchy throat. When this kind of thing happens, I immediately affirm the body’s wellness. I know what I focus on gets bigger, so focusing on the body’s wellness amplifies wellness, not whatever that scratchiness was. Then I focused on parts of the body already experiencing wellness.

Wellness Not Illness

I share this process with all my clients. It works wonders in shortening what people call “colds”. Although I must say I don’t have much evidence for this because I experience this hardly ever. Anyway, back to the story.

Focusing on wellness, the scratchiness morphed from my throat to my right sinus. I continued focusing on wellness, this time focusing on my left sinus and the sensation just kind of hovered there. It never got worse. I never got a temperature. An impulse had me rest more than usual. For a brief moment, old patterns surfaced: What if I’m getting sick? Where did I pick this up? I even thought What if my clients find out? As if I’m not “supposed” to get “sick” LOL.

But then I paused. I know the difference between being out of alignment and being in realignment. And this felt like the latter. Because here’s what else had been happening last week:

  • I had completed a deep dream cycle where old professional wounds — involving Dianna D., Laura B. and John F. and the energy of Intel and start-up culture — had come full circle.
  • I had recognized these people not as villains, but as angels, reflecting my own old beliefs about unworthiness and tying value to output. And I had released them.
  • I had experienced the stunning confirmation of a dream-manifestation in my waking life — discovering Albina One, a beautiful, affordable housing opportunity that contradicted every limiting belief I’d held about money, success, and belonging.

That’s a lot of energy to move. And the body? The body always knows when it’s time to process. So I didn’t resist the scratchiness, the indication of the body recalibrating. Instead, I honored by allowing it, by not resisting it.

When Symptoms Are Signals

As the scratchiness moved, so did emotion. As the pressure in my sinus made itself known, I felt pressure of my old beliefs release. And, as the body craved rest, my awareness became more acute.

I wasn’t “down for the count.” I was in my vibrational workshop. One where old wiring loosened. Where stories I had held for years — about earning love, proving worth, hustling for stability — were leaving through both my thoughts and through my tissues.

This was somatic clearing. A divine detox. A deep invitation to let my cells, nerves, and fascia feel the integration that my spirit had already aligned with. And this is interesting: many new age thoughts argue for “detoxing” the body. Providers all over offer such processes, which often include bizarre drinks, foods or methods to “cleanse” the body.

I know the body does all this automatically. It doesn’t need a “detox”. The only effective such process is the one dealing with distorted beliefs we hold which then manifest in the body as sluggish metabolism or disease and, yes, even colds. So the release I moved through happened effortlessly. It just took time.

And yes — it was uncomfortable. But only in the way that change is uncomfortable. Because when we stop resisting discomfort, it becomes revelatory.

We can benefit from signals commonly known as “illness” if we catch the manifestation in the early stages.

From “Head Cold” to Flow State

By Sunday, the shift was unmistakable. I woke up feeling light. Not just symptom-free, but free — in my mind, in my heart, in my energy. I felt spacious, focused, joyful. And out of nowhere, inspiration struck.

Over the last few weeks, my Broader Perspective’s impulses included more and more nudges to revitalize my Positively Focused YouTube Channel. I’ve felt these nudges in the past, sat with them, but felt no strong desire to follow them. Now I know it wasn’t time back then.

Last Sunday it was time. I wasn’t moved to take the next step, I was compelled. While on a walk I unlocked phone and began filming. One YouTube short. Then another. And another.

Before I knew it, I created seven one-minute videos in a single afternoon — all of them precise, powerful, and joyful to make. They weren’t labored over, they were given. They poured out of me like water from a vessel that had finally been emptied of the old. This is the fruit of real alignment: effortless expression and divine timing.

And it didn’t come because I forced it. It came because I let myself be still. Because I trusted my body’s intelligence and divine timing. Because I allowed every phase of the process — even the congested ones — to be part of the unfolding.

The Integration: Physical, Emotional, Symbolic

This one week last week — this head cold week — tied together everything that came before it:

  • The dreams helped me release the emotional weight of the illusion of professional betrayal and disempowerment.
  • Albina One helped me receive evidence that I could be held, housed, and honored without needing to earn it.
  • And the body’s recalibration to all that aligned it with the new frequency.

That’s the reality behind spiritual expansion isn’t it? It’s not just mental or emotional. It’s somatic. It lives in the tissues. It lives in the nervous system. The manifestation of our spiritual essence manifests in every physical particle, especially those which compose the body. And if we don’t pause to allow that part of the process, we miss the deeper alchemy.

When you feel off, consider this: If your body starts “acting up” after a big energetic shift — whether it’s a dream breakthrough, a surprising manifestation, or an internal leap — ask yourself: What might my body be releasing right now? What am I finally ready to let go of? Could these symptoms be evidence of integration, not dysfunction?

A Rediscovery

Of course, pre-manifestational awareness is required to catch the process in its early unfolding. But you could also ask these questions afterwards and intend to catch it earlier next time.

The answers may reveal a beautiful release and integration process happening at the vibrational level, indicated by dreams and emotions. And culminating in the beautiful recalibration of your body to your new expansion. A recalibration process that we’ve been told is a bad thing: sickness.

All this doesn’t mean you don’t care for yourself. It means you care from a different place — one that honors your body as an intelligent translator of vibration, not a machine that’s breaking down. That’s what I did. And that’s why, by Sunday, I felt remarkable.

Remarkable and more confirmed than ever that this practice — this Positively Focused path — is the real deal.

This is the new way of living. Strike that. It’s actually age-old. But my clients and I, we’re rediscovering it. Why not join us?
