Jill, Oregon

“I used to think all men were scum”

“Jill” is a trans woman who, like many trans women, loathed herself. As a result, men she encountered reflected that self-loathing back to her. They would use her for sex only. They would lie to her, or tell her they wanted to be with them, only to ghost them later.

It was no wonder she, like many trans women believed “all men are scum”.

But Jill also desperately wanted a husband. Hard to find one when “all men are scum.” Through the Positively Focused Practice, we worked through that belief as well as other beliefs about herself until Jill found the natural love for herself. As that happened over the years, she gradually softened her resistance about men.

Is it any wonder that she met, in the most effortless way, the man who eventually became her husband of four years now? He actually moved across the country to be with her.

It’s no wonder she USED to think all men are scum. As far as her beliefs were concerned, all men were. So she wasn’t a match to her husband. Until she let go of that belief and found the joy she wanted.
