This You Create Your Own Reality (YCYOR) Business is really simple. Line up with what we want until we become a match to it and it will happen, guaranteed. Sounds simple and it is.
But, unlike what the movie The Secret tells us, becoming a match to our desires is not easy. Especially because we can’t create around our current beliefs. Current beliefs is our reality. The world around us LITERALLY is our beliefs made real. That reality has a lot of momentum behind it. And since we can’t create around our current beliefs, in the process of becoming a match to desire, we must also soothe existing belief momentum.
The challenge with that, as some clients can attest, is, that’s not easy. One reason is because current reality is so present. It’s right THERE. We’re subsumed in it. Just being in our manifested beliefs literally amplifies the “what is” of those very beliefs. One client’s experience illustrated this yesterday. Her “what is” (she called it her “truth”) weighs so much in her mind it’s hard for her to NOT think about it.
And yet, moments later, she did a FABULOUS job leaning into thoughts more aligned with her desired reality than her existing one. It helps that this client is a natural at the practice. And yet, even as she did so, her current reality still was there pressing on her awareness.
It’s moment-by-moment sometimes
It can be hard to ignore “what is” in favor of what’s becoming. What’s becoming seems so not-real. But that is the practice. That’s what this YCYOR business looks like. It’s how it’s practiced. And that practice must become, not second nature…it must come FIRST nature. Otherwise “what is’” pervasiveness will dominate one’s awareness. When that happens, and that doesn’t feel good, that tells us we’re creating more of what we already have.
So this YCYOR business sometimes must be a moment-by-moment practice. Good news: the closer the practice gets to becoming first nature, the easier it gets to practice. Getting there takes a while, however, which explains why many of my clients, after years of being clients, still are clients.
Their lives have gotten far better than before. They’re getting what they want. And if you ask them, they’ll probably agree: it seems simple. Sure, they’ll say, getting where they are may not have been easy, but it certainly was worth it.
